My bills are all due and the babies need shoes
But I'm busted
Cotton is gone down to a quarter a pound
And I'm busted
I got a cow that's gone dry and a hen that won't lay
A big stack of bills that get bigger each day
The county's gonna haul my belongings away
I'm busted
I went to my brother to ask for a loan
I was busted
I hate to beg like a dog for a bone
But I'm busted
My brother said, "There ain't a thing I can do"
My wife and my kids are all down with the flu
And I was just thinkin' of callin' on you
I'm busted"
Lord, I'm no thief but a man can go wrong
When he's busted
The food that we canned last summer is gone
And I'm busted
The fields are all bare and the cotton won't grow
Me and my family gotta pack up and go
Where I'll make a living, the Lord only knows
But I'm busted
şu ana kadar tanıdıklarımdan yola çıkarak konuşuyorum;
bonnie prince billy'nin i see a darkness albümünden bir şarkı. değişik bir kafayla yazılmış. durup dururken ölüm daha çekici gelmeye başlıyor.
i am here, right here
where god puts none asunder
and you, in black dress and black shoe
you do invite me under
go on, go there
you can see me aging
stars turn, balls burn
coming kids are raging
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
la la la ...
every terrible thing is a relief
even months on end buried in grief
are easy light times which have to end
with the coming of your death friend
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
la la la ...
so strap me on and raise me high
cause buddy i'm not afraid to die
but life is long and it's tremendous
and we're glad that you're here with us
and since we know an end will come
it makes our living fun
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
death to me and death to you
tell me what else can we do die do
death to all and death to each
our own god-bottle s'within reach
death to everyone is gonna come
and it makes hosing much more fun
You got a tight connection to my heart
You got a tight connection to my heart
You got a tight connection to my heart
You got a tight connection to my heart
Well, I had to move fast
And I couldn't with you around my neck
I said I'd send for you and I did
What did you expect?
My hands are sweating
And we haven't even started yet.
I'll go along with the charade
Until I can think my way out.
I know it was all a big joke
Whatever it was all about.
Someday maybe
I'll remember to forget.
I'm gonna get my coat.
I feel the breath of a storm.
There's something I've got to do tonight,
You go inside and stay warm.
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love,
I don't know.
Has anybody seen my love?
You want to talk to me.
Go ahead and talk.
Whatever you got to say to me
Won't come as any shock.
I must be guilty of something
You just whisper it into my ear
Madame Butterfly
She lulled me to sleep.
In a town without pity
Where the water runs deep.
She said, 'Be easy baby.
There ain't nothing worth stealin' in here'
You're the one I've been looking for
You're the one that's got the key
But I can't figure out whether I'm too good for you
Or you're too good for me
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love?
Well they're not showing any lights tonight
And there's no moon.
There's just a hot blooded singer
Singing 'Memphis in June'
And they're beatin' the devil out of a guy
Who's wearing a powder-blue wig.
Later he'll be shot for
Resisting arrest.
I can still hear his voice crying
In the wilderness.
What looks large from a distance
Close up ain't never that big.
I never could learn to drink that blood
And call it wine
I never could learn to hold you, love
And call you mine.
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love,
Has anybody seen my love,
I don't know
Has anybody seen my love?
Talkin' 'bout a .....
Talkin' 'bout a .....
Talkin' 'bout a .....
You got a tight connection to my heart
You got a tight connection to my heart
You got a tight connection to my heart
'twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood
when blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
i came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
and if i pass this way again, you can rest assured
i'll always do my best for her, on that i give my word
in a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved
everything up to that point had been left unresolved.
try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
i was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail,
poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail,
hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
suddenly i turned around and she was standin' there
with silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.
she walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost
i took too much for granted, got my signals crossed.
just to think that it all began on a long-forgotten morn.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount
but nothing really matters much, it's doom alone that counts
and the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
i've heard newborn babies wailin' like a mournin' dove
and old men with broken teeth stranded without love.
do i understand your question, man, is it hopeless and forlorn?
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
in a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes
i bargained for salvation an' they gave me a lethal dose.
i offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
well, i'm livin' in a foreign country but i'm bound to cross the line
beauty walks a razor's edge, someday i'll make it mine.
if i could only turn back the clock to when god and her were born.
"come in," she said,
"i'll give you shelter from the storm."
well, it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
if you don't know by now
an' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
it'll never do, somehow
when your rooster crows at the break of dawn
look out your window and i'll be gone
you're the reason i'm trav'lin' on
but don't think twice, it's all right
and it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
that light i never knowed
an' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
i'm on the dark side of the road
but i wish there was somethin' you would do or say
to try and make me change my mind and stay
we never did too much talkin' anyway
but don't think twice, it's all right
so it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
like you never did before
and it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
i can't hear you anymore
i'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin', walkin' down the road,
i once loved a woman, a child i'm told i give her my heart but she wanted my soul
but don't think twice, it's all right
so long, honey, babe
where i'm bound, i can't tell
goodbye's too good a word, babe
so i'll just say fare thee well
i ain't sayin' you treated me unkind you coulda done better but i don't mind
you just kinda wasted my precious time
but don't think twice, it's all right
entrylerimi hangi saatlerde giriyorum acaba diye bir bakıverdim, gece yarısından önce girdiğim entry sayısı bir elin parmaklarını geçmiyor. ciddi manada uyku sorunum olduğunu bir kere daha fark ettim.
