1978 yılında ünlü usta (öyle diyorlar, bence hıyarın teki) john carpenter tarafından çekilen "halloween" 2007'de bu defa heavy metalci/sinema yönetmeni (ikisini de beceremeyen) rob zombie'ye emanet edilmiş.

maskeli katillerin atababası michael myers henüz altı yaşındayken 1963 yılı cadılar bayramı gecesinde erkek arakadaşıyla iş tutan ablasını defalarca bıçaklayarak öldürür. dr. sam loomis gözetimi altında akıl hastahanesine yatırılan michael tedavilere yanıt vermez. michael 21 yaşında başka bir hastahaneye transferi sırasında kaçmayı başarır ve eski memleketi haddonfield'e döner. kısa bir süre sonra akıl almaz (!) cinayetler yeniden kasaba halkına dehşet saçmaya başlar. b.s.g.a.q.

rob zombie kolayca tahmin edebileceğiniz üzere elindeki dolgun bütçe ve aradan geçen bunca yılda epeyce gelişmiş olan sinema teknolojisine rağmen ilki kadar korkutucu (ıyyyy) (!) bir film çekmeyi başarmış. nasıl başarmış çok merak ediyorum.
zaten film ilk önce oliver stone'a teklif edilmiş ama o o sıralar 11 eylül saldırısıyla ilgili bir film projesiyle uğraştığından öneriyi ne yazık ki geri çevirmiş.
yapımcılar da bula bula rob ıspanağını bulmuşlar. (bence o atlamıştır sazan gibi ; ben çekiyim, noolur ben çekiyim şeklinde.

rob zombie'nin çekeceği ''re - make'' filminin, 31 ağustos 2007'de sinemaları şenlendirmesi beklenen, trailer'ı itibariyle, bir parmak balı ağıza çalmış, korku sever olarak meraklarda bırakan devam filmi. umarız ki, halloween, palyaçoya benzememiş, ayaklara düşmemiştir yine.
