Wade’s departure leaves a hole in the heart of the Heat franchise. He started his career there in 2003-04 and grew into one of the game’s best shooting guards. In 2005-06, Wade averaged 27.2 points, 6.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds and shot 49.5% from the field, and Miami defeated Dallas in the Finals. He was named Finals MVP.
Wade went through a 15-win season in 2007-08 and led the league in scoring at 30.2 points per game in 2008-09. He was there for the worst and best moments in franchise history.
Wade met with the Bulls during free agency in 2010. But James and Bosh wanted to join Wade in Miami, and that turned into two more championships (2012, 2013) for the Heat.
Wade is a 12-time All-Star and was first-team All-NBA in 2008-09 and 2009-10. He is the franchise's all-time leader in points, steals, assists, games, minutes, field goals and free throws.
