  1. I always heavily censure Erdoğan and his government on Uludağ sözlük, but ties with ISIS doesn't make any sense to me. To begin with ISIS doesn't underpin any "leader", main reason is not remain under the control of any leader. So to say any government would support ISIS (especially those in the region like Turkey) makes zero sense. Why would a government support a brutal terror organization that wants to take them off the power?

The main concern is the hostages and the geographical position. The situation for Turkey is different than it is for the countries that are geographically far away from Syria and Iraq. Being closer, it's easier for ISIS to attack Turkey. Though this also means if ISIS gets stronger they will be an even bigger threat for Turkey, so I can't say if Turkey doesn't send any troops it will be the right decision or wrong, but the concern is surely logical.

There is a US air base in Turkey, and 90% chance it will be open at least for medical and humanitarian help for the operation. Contrary to how some newspapers put it, Turkey is not the only NATO country that doesn't want to provide more military engagement. The UK and Germany also will not join the air strikes.
