1988 yilinda Amsterdam´da ölen jazz trompetcisi. (bkz: miles davis) kendisi icin su sözleri söylemistir : "There's a young cat on the West Coast who's gonna eat you up." .
Dizzy Gillespie ve cliford Brown ile birlikte 50 lili yillarin en önemli trompet performanslarini sergilemistir. Duygusal sarkilar yazan ama asi bir hayat yasayan baker, Amsterdam´da uyusturucudan ölmüstür.
